Welcome to Linda's Country Quilt Shop on line!

I hope your holidays were happy and your new year is off to a good start. I also hope you are ready to get some sewing done.

I am going to be offering Kim Diehl's 'Simple Whatnots Club, Collection 2' starting in January and invite you to join this group meeting once a month. We have a good assortment of Kim Diehl fabrics including the line for this year's projects and always have a lot of fun in our clubs. We will meet the third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. as part of our Civil War Saturday, so come in and see what it is all about.

Are you ready for our 2015 Challenge to finish those UFOs lying around your sewing room? Sometime this month, bring in and register six unfinished projects that you would like to complete. Registration will cost $10, and you have until the end of the year to complete your projects, which must be completely done including quilting and binding. If you finish all your projects, your registration fee will be refunded and you will be entered into a drawing for other prizes, so this is a win-win situation!

I'm also going to be offering a 'Table Mat of the Month' class with patterns designed by Kathy Schmitz, which can also be made into a quilt. If this interests you, take a look at the class section for more information.

The 15th Anniversary Cabin Fever Shop Hop is February 12-14 and it is going to be good! The quilt is hanging in the shop and we have passports ready to go. We are raising funds for people in need and a donation of canned goods at each store will get you an extra door prize ticket at that store. We are also going to have a bus for our customers on Thursday and Friday, if you don't want to do the driving.

It's time for another 'Beginner' class for those of you who want to start quilting or maybe sharpen your skills if you are already quilting. See the class section, if you think this might be for you.

Our 'Hand Crank Sewing Machine Club' will meet the fourth Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. and you can stop by to check it out or bring your hand crank machine and see what we can do together. I have an extra hand crank machine if you would like to give it a try, so please let us know if you would like to join us.

'Strip Day' is back! On the fourth Wednesday of the month, we offer a large variety of precut strips for 50 cents. We have a lot of patterns and books to give you ideas on how to use your strips. We also offer a class on the fourth Wednesday with opportunities to use those strips, so join us.

Happy quilting!

Linda
